 November 7 , 1999 Hard to believe that 7 months have flown by. I have been very busy doing everything but updating the web page. There have been minor changes here and there but nothing substantial. Now that the busy time at work is over maybe a I can get back to working on the web pages again. March 18 , 1999 The site renovation is about 90% complete. I have a few more pages to check the coding on and clean up any problems in them. I hope that all of this will be completed in the next week or so. The Maverick Homepage is pleased to announce that we are now hosting Don Chisholm's Website Awards Worksheet. You can find the worksheets on the Awards Main Menu page. March 9 , 1999 The site is undergoing extensive renovations. The major changes are to clean up the code and increase load times. I still have lots to do and some other changes to consider. Over the past few months The Maverick Homepage has been the recipient of many awards and these have all been posted in the Awards pages. Stop by and see the new ones and perhaps check out the sites that awarded them to Maverick. I have added some JAVA applets and scripts throughout the site that I hope add something to the pages. I have included a Navigation Bar, some Java puzzles and countdown timers just to name a few. January 15, 1999 First off let me say "Have a prosperous and safe 1999!!". We had yet another death in the family just prior to Christmas. The little black cloud just won't go away. My family and I travelled to Toronto, Ontario, Canada to visit with my parents, brother and sister. The time away from home and spent with close family was most refreshing. The kids had a great time. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had to stop in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to spend time with Sharon's parents. We had a wonderful visit there are well. I am slowly getting back into the swing of things and updating or adding items to the web pages. Even still the desire isn't what it used to be. I will be adding a page about the effects of our home break-in. Perhaps it will help to make me feel better and educate others on what to expect and/or how to prevent it from happening. I have added three levels to the I am CANADIAN Award. The award may now be won by those that indicate they are Canadian, have a few graphics or pages dedicated to Canada. Check out the awards application page for more details. There have been a few awards added, check them out if you have time. A special thanks to Jerry Kemp at Plane Crazy's Hangar for his wonderful personalized award. December 7, 1998 WOW! It is really hard to believe that nearly two months have passed since I last updated this page. There have been some 60 awards received since the last update. Check out Awards Pages 15 thru 22 for all of the great awards. The last few months have been very, very busy and very hectic and look Christmas is just around the corner. I have had to make several work related trips to Ottawa, Ontario and Regina, Saskatchewan. We have travelled to Winnipeg, Manitoba twice, once for a Sisler High School's 40th anniversary and once just for a visit. We have also travelled to Edmonton, Alberta to spend some time with friends. We experienced a Home break and enter and theft upon our return from the Winnipeg trip for the school anniversary. TV, VCR, stereo equipment, cam corder,jewelry, cash, computer parts and other stuff that I am sure we have yet to discover. It has taken some time to get our lives back together and replace the items that were stolen. It has also taken a fair amount of time to get a computer up and running to read and send e-mails, update the web pages and on and on and on. Our misery, however, did not end there. We had a grandma and an uncle pass away within days of each other. And tragically a co-worker in Regina was killed in a head on collision. Oh please little black cloud, move along and bother some else for a while. I am not sure how often I will be updating this page in the next little while. All of the above plus the looming Christmas season are really tapping my energy levels. Stay tuned however, as I really do hope to get back in the groove and update the web site regularly, only time will tell. September 29, 1998 There never seems to be enough time to do all of the things that need to be done. Anyway, I have put up my JAVA links page. For now it will have to do. I will add more stuff to it and provide some examples of my favourite JAVA scripts and applets in the near future. Another couple of awards have been added to the growing list of awards received. Once again Canada has been ranked as the number 1 country to live in. Maverick received an Awards Site Level 3.0 rating from Focus Associates Awards Sites. We were hoping for a 3.5 or 4.0 level rating but will certainly accept the level 3.0. It means we will have to try harder and improve Maverick even more. Today Maverick received the "Kate's Cool Homepage Award". Maverick is proud to announce it has received the prestigious "Great White North Award of Excellence" for September 8th, 1998. Maverick also received two awards (both from the same location) on September 8th. They are "Captain's Catch of the Day" and "The Haggis Award". These awards may be viewed at Awards Page #11. September 3, 1998 Things have been really hectic around home these days I haven't been able to spend much time updating stuff. I have several new awards that have come in. I will detail those later on. I am in the process of revising the Awards pages. They will be split up into smaller pages with 8 to 12 awards per page rather than the 20 to 25 that they have now. Maverick was also accepted and entered into the The Canadian, Eh? Net Directory. August 22, 1998 Bit of a slow day here at Maverick. Decided to spend "some" time away from the keyboard. Created another award for the "What a Site" Award. It now has a choice of three. Added two new awards "Best of the Web Award" and "Canadian SuperSite Award". Check them out. The Canadian SuperSite Award is the second award that I received from the Interplanetary Post Office. A BIG Thank You for this honor. August 21, 1998 Created two new awards, well one award actually with a choice of graphic. My Awards request page has been updated to reflect these new awards. Designed graphics for the CANADIAN Awards WebRing. Contacted Webring and set up the CANADIAN Awards WebRing. Sent out an e-mail to 11 or 12 Canadian Award sites. August 20, 1998 Added three new awards today. They are "Michelle's Floating Mickey Award", "Wyld's Award of Excellence" and "The Family Corner Safe Surf Award". Added a third awards page as Page 2 was getting rather long. Changed the order of this page. The current news is now at the top. Applied for 4 Awards Web Rings. They should be up and running in a couple of days. They will be found at the bottom of the Web Ring page as well as at the bottom of the Award Request page. Fixed and/or deleted a couple of broken links. August 19, 1998 Put up the Award Request Page. Seems to be working OK. Might have to fine tune it a little but not much. Completed the three other awards I will offer, GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE for WEB PAGE EXCELLENCE. Not entirely sure that I am happy with them but for my first go around not bad. Created and uploaded my Winner's List. So far only one winner, Plane Crazy's Hangar but hey somebody had to be first. If you are into military links this is a good starting point. Also some poignant memorials to Vietnam Vets, POW/MIA's, John Denver and a few others. GREAT SITE. Received and installed three new awards today.
